My name is Christian Arca, and I love life. No, really, I do. Everyrthing I do, I make sure I love I do. Whether it be from updating my website, performing research on semiotics, being the lead designer at work, working out, playing soccer, listening to music, playing video-games, or just being my spontaneous self, I love it. My chosen profession is in the games industry, and I see no turning back. I live and breathe design and I simply can't help it. There's no other industry where I could picture myself right now and I am both happy and honored to be a part of it.

As you can probably already tell, I am willing to try anything. I feel that most of our daily activities are not just actions we take, they're something much more. They're experiences. Experiences which define whom we are as well as serve as inspiration. Whenever I am in "design mode" I take a step back and look for inspiration in many of my experiences, which have great range. The more you experience as a person, the more whole you become, at least I think.

Some of the experiences I take part in are, writing, playing the piano, alto sax, guitar, photography, scuba diving, rock climbing, and traveling. Some other things I enjoy include watching soccer, particularly Real Madrid C.F. and the Spanish national team - as I am from Spain - watching Formula 1, Moto GP, participating in spontaneous trips, playing video-games, watching films, cooking - I really love cooking - and of course playing video-games. In short you could say I am your average guy who is from Spain, works in the game industry, and wants to get the most out of life as he possibly can.

Philosophy And Ink

My InkI've always been one to take great pride in what I do. Furthermore, I believe that I should only do things which I am passionate about. In the summer of 2008 on a trip out to Cape Cod I decided that it was time I got a tattoo. Not only because I had wanted one for quite some time, but many things for me just "clicked". I solidified an underlying philosophy of mine which I know I will continue to follow and hold true until the end of time. Thus, comes the story of how I have the number 9 tattooed on my left forearm.

The philosophy goes a bit like this, I feel that no one can be perfect. On a conventional scale of 1-10, 10 would be perfect. Since no one can be perfect, no one can be ranked a 10, but that doesn't mean you should just settle on being anything but as close to perfect as possible. Thus, you should always try to be a 9, and that is why I have a 9 tattooed on me forever. Because, I will forever try to be the best I can ever be and will always remember, even in my moments of blind self praise, that I am not perfect, there is a lot I have yet to learn, but at least I keep trying to be perfect, every day.
