@Laurent: You're not too far off actually! I mainly put it out there as a problem that needs to be solved and tech entrepreneurs could embrace this and make it their own. Part of the reason why I feel so strongly about this topic specifically is that it's such a pivotal part of the entrepreneur / tech ecosystem that I'm really baffled as to why there yet to remains anyone trying to solve this through interesting and different solutions.

I think what Christian is looking for is a reboot of the whole hiring process. That descriptions fail us. What I think he's looking for is some system that processes a persons likes and cares and creates matches for employees and employers.
I think he is looking for GULP eHarmony for Jobs (without the weird Christian slant)

I figured I should return the favor of commenting (you have been a loyal commentor)
Sadly I haven't played most of the games on your list (I did play the original battlefield, which I thought was awesome!)
However, I have played Steambird! Great game and an example of the power of great devs working on the flash platform.
What ArmorGames has done for the flash gaming community is a wonder. They deserve credit for holding the flash game community to higher standards are producing great IP.
Steambirds is just fantastic. We just put it up on games.com if you phoneless

My conclusions are that hiring is hard and job boards don't make it any easier. Hiring via Facebook or Twitter provides more relevant to both parties, the employers and the candidates rather than a job board.

I want to hear more about what you think about BF:BC2. I like your idea that the player can be an 'on the fly' level designer -- brilliant! Talk about this more. What kind of things can players look out for on maps? What are you learning? More please :)

I'm unsure of your conclusions. Are you saying that a Facebook jobs section would result in candidates that were more qualified than those found through Twitter?

I've seen this practice a lot of times. I had been playing both of the roles you described above.
I was "a hero", when I was trying to save my teammates from being fired. And my boss was "a villian". But in the same time I was "a villian", for my subordinates. It is ok, because sometimes you need to make your subordinates to be distatisfied with your severity. When they hate you, they becoming closer to each other. This "trick" is often used in army to make a squad to become more organized.
It is also very helpful solution to solve those interpersonal conflicts in the development team.

P.S.
When unity will become widespread we'll face another problems:

1. Product value will rapidly increase. Due to the specifics of the technology this will rise production costs respectively.

2. All startup teams with unity-related developers will become a forge of employees after the first success release. It is very predictable, because a lot of unity-based startups will appear with bigger funds being invested in them, so they will offer the highest salary. That would probably cause a "brain drain".
Maybe "fixed salaries + revenue share" is a solution, though.

3. Art production will be much more expensive. That is beacuse all unity-based startups will need to challenge with large PC\Console companies for the qualified employees. I mean 3D modeller will become much more hard and expensive to get in comparsion with getting a good flash illustrator at this moment.

4. Limiting the screen picture quality to the average workstation hardware perfomance abilities.
